The really cool person of this month should be someone who dedicates time and energy into helping others. This person has to give of themselves.

I know a person that fits this definition. She was my contact to start my first walk for epilepsy. She helped me, my mom and dad every step of the way. She is very hard working, friendly and funny. I do not see her often, but when I do she always wants to lend a helping hand. Her name is Leslie Slender. Leslie is the Associate Director of The Epilepsy Society of Southern New York, and she is my friend!

Without Leslie's help and kindness my 1st walk would never have happened. Thank goodness she did, and the walk raised over $15,000.

Leslie helped my family and I plan my 2nd walk which raised well over $10,000! These walks were my dream to help others and I could only have gotten as far as I have with her help.
