Very
Cool Person of the Month:
Sara-Elizabeth Clark
I would like
to nominate my youngest daughter, Sara-Elizabeth as Very Cool
Person of the Month.
Sara has epilepsy,
but she has been seizure free for over 5 years now. Last August
Sara wanted to do a fund raiser for the Epilepsy Society of Southern
New York (ESSNY).
Well a long story
short, Sara did have a fund raiser for them and it was held on
April 25, 2006 at The State University of New York at New Paltz.
She organized a walk to raise funds and awareness for ESSNY. This
walk, with Sara's outreach, touched many individuals whose lives
have been affected by this disorder.
Sara's Walk raised
over $12,000 to date and more money is still coming in for the
cause. Not bad for an eleven year old girl in my book! Sara is
one of my heroes as well as many others. Ulster County has recognized
what she has done and they presented her with an award for her
hard work on May 25, 2006.
